Dubai’s Global Council Welcomes 1000 Guests Daily

Mohammed Al Marzouqi, the Events Director at Dubai World Trade Centre, revealed that the venue welcomes approximately 1,000 guests daily. He emphasized that the Dubai World Trade Centre serves as a model for boosting economic and tourism activities during Ramadan, positively impacting sectors like hospitality, supply chains, and associated services. In statements made to a local publication, Al Marzouqi noted that this surge reinforces the contribution of seasonal events to the local economy. The initiative goes beyond just Iftar gatherings; it also includes the implementation of a comprehensive hospitality strategy aimed at minimizing food waste under the “Zero Waste” initiative while enhancing employment opportunities during the Ramadan season.

Al Marzouqi stated that the venue has the capacity to accommodate around 1,000 guests each day and experiences significant demand throughout Ramadan, with attendance driven by both prior reservations and walk-in visitors. Furthermore, the hospitality management at Dubai World Trade Centre provides services at various external locations across the country, delivering customized experiences for corporate clients and individuals.

He confirmed that the hospitality sector in Dubai witnesses notable growth during Ramadan, supporting operations in catering, guest services, logistics, event management, health and safety, and other related fields. This increased activity generates both direct and indirect job opportunities encompassing supply chains, transportation, retail, and affiliated services. The hospitality team at Dubai World Trade Centre is expanding its workforce during this period to offer exceptional experiences for Iftar and Suhoor, thereby enhancing the sector’s contribution to Dubai’s broader economic framework.

Surplus Food

Al Marzouqi elaborated that sustainability and corporate social responsibility are fundamental pillars of their operations. As a reflection of the values of the holy month, the venue has renewed its partnership with the “Tarahem Charity Foundation” and the Emirates Food Bank. He mentioned that over 6,000 meals were donated during Ramadan last year, further supporting the nation’s efforts to minimize food waste and foster community spirit. Any surplus food is managed through comprehensive waste reduction programs in line with Dubai World Trade Centre’s commitment to sustainability, including the “Zero Waste” strategy and food donation initiatives that distribute tens of thousands of kilograms of food annually.

A Cultural Attraction

Al Marzouqi pointed out that the venue is considered one of the prominent destinations enriching authentic cultural experiences during Ramadan, having welcomed hundreds of thousands of Dubai residents and visitors from around the globe over the years. Its central location continues to cement Dubai’s status as a vibrant tourist and commercial destination year-round. Guests at the venue enjoy a sophisticated Iftar experience characterized by Emirati hospitality and stylish contemporary ambiance, reflecting Dubai’s essence of blending authenticity with world-class service, aligning with its vision as a global hub celebrating cultural diversity and uniting people around traditional values during the holy month.

A Transformational Experience

Regarding the new offerings for guests this year compared to previous ones, Al Marzouqi stated that the venue has undergone a significant transformation, having been completely redesigned to merge contemporary elegance with traditional Arabian hospitality. The focus has been on enhancing services to provide an outstanding Iftar experience, allowing the award-winning hospitality team to refine every detail. The new design fosters an intimate atmosphere, promotes connection, and revitalizes the values celebrated during Ramadan.
