The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has confirmed that the aviation sector in the UAE is operating at a high level of readiness and efficiency. Since the beginning of March, the country’s airports have accommodated approximately 1.4 million passengers, and there have been 7,839 flight movements recorded during the same period. National carriers have managed to restore 44.6% of their previous operational levels, reflecting the ongoing operations and effectiveness of the civil aviation framework in the UAE.
Moreover, the airports and national airlines are witnessing a careful and gradual increase in operational activities, driven by high readiness and exceptional air traffic management efficiency.
This flexible resumption signifies the UAE aviation sector’s capability to continue its growth while ensuring reliable travel for all.
With passenger and crew safety being the top priority, flights are conducted according to the highest international standards, ensuring a secure and seamless journey for everyone.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the GCAA, emphasized that “the safety of individuals comes first… the aviation sector has managed this phase responsibly, ensuring the safety of passengers while maintaining operational continuity.”
Additionally, His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, stated that the aviation sector continues to operate efficiently within a structured plan that considers operational facts and safety and security requirements.
