The steel manufacturing plant in Ajman has announced the launch of its first commercial export shipment of “billet” to the Gulf region, totaling 1,000 tons, following the completion of operational, quality, and technical compliance tests for the initial phase of its production system.
The facility indicated that this phase took approximately nine months of operational tests to verify performance efficiency and meet quality and compliance requirements. In December 2024, Dr. Adel Balrimitha, the founder and CEO, completed the full acquisition of the plant, after which technical and operational renovations commenced.
At the beginning of 2025, a project was initiated to undergo industrial restructuring, which includes enhancing production lines, gradually increasing production capacity, and implementing a power connectivity program from the grid within a 36-month plan.
Etienne Van Den Berghom, CEO of projects and advisory council member, stated that the launch of the first commercial export shipment embodies the plant’s commitment to the plan announced during its strategic rollout at METAL EXPO 2025 in Turkey. This marks a practical step towards completing the installation of the rolling mill and commencing commercial production of rebar in the coming months.
He noted that the targeted production capacity in the first phase aims for an average annual output of 150,000 tons of rebar in various sizes, with expectations to reach an average production capacity of 600,000 tons annually by 2028.
Dr. Adel Balrimitha emphasized that the awareness program implemented for the factory’s employees has instilled the belief that national duty requires every individual in their respective roles to continue working diligently, thus supporting business continuity and contributing to the protection and development of the national economy.
