Tabi Knight, an Australian entrepreneur in the fitness industry who relocated to Dubai in December 2024, expressed that she continues to feel secure and has no immediate plans to leave the city. She praised the government’s efforts to keep residents informed and reiterated her commitment to following official guidance, which has proven effective thus far.
According to a report by “The Free Press,” over the past few decades, the dazzling Emirati city has transformed into a hub for entrepreneurs, influencers, and global wealthy individuals, promising low taxes and a seamless luxury lifestyle, with safety being a paramount concern.
Testimonials from Western residents in Dubai narrate a contrasting reality; although initial shocks were startling, life has continued its usual luxurious pace, as reported by expatriates.
The message from the Emirati government emphasizes that everything is under control and that safety prevails, promoting a sense of calm.
Mike Babayan, a 23-year-old stock trader who moved from Los Angeles to Dubai alone at the age of 17, was out walking at 3 a.m. when contacted by the press on Tuesday. He confirmed that the atmosphere remained completely tranquil.
Babayan stated he has no intention of leaving Dubai, attributing his confidence to the UAE military’s successful interception of drones and missiles.
He explained that witnessing the handling of situations in real-time brings peace of mind and deep trust in the procedures in place.
As Babayan walked the streets, he compared Dubai’s safety to other places globally, noting that the risk of theft in Dubai is incredibly low compared to his hometown of Los Angeles, where crime was a daily occurrence—a standard by which he gauges his personal safety.
Hofit Golan, a three-time winner of Forbes’ “Influencer of the Year,” who relocated from Miami to Dubai several months ago said, “I was robbed in London four times.”
Golan emphasizes that Dubai places a strong emphasis on law and order; despite its reputation as a destination for the wealthy and internet celebrities, the country enforces strict public conduct rules in line with its values and imposes harsh penalties on violators.
Golan believes that this strictness contributes to the overall sense of safety, which is lacking in many other locations.
Even the sounds of missile interceptions did not shake Golan’s sense of security in Dubai; instead, they reinforced her view that Dubai is one of the safest places on earth. Amidst ongoing conflicts, residents can still enjoy shopping malls, beaches, and regular delivery services.
Golan notes that she is not alone in this sentiment, as tourists are having a wonderful time, extending their vacations, and feeling as though they are on a complimentary trip since the government is covering the costs for stranded visitors—a situation she described as astonishing. She questioned what other country would do such a thing for its guests, especially in contrast to American airlines that only offer snacks during emergencies.
Golan remarked that she enjoys sitting on the beach, being served luxurious Greek food while watching the sunset.
