Suhail Al Mazrouei: The Supply and Transport System in the UAE Operates with High Efficiency

His Excellency Suhail Mohamed Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Chairman of the Supply and Transport Committee, has stated that the transportation system and supply chains in the United Arab Emirates are operating with high efficiency and regularity. This is achieved within a comprehensive framework that is flexible and ready to ensure the smooth movement of goods and services, contributing to market stability and demonstrating the nation’s capability to effectively handle various regional changes.

He elaborated that this system is based on a cohesive national effort led by the Supply and Transport Committee, focusing on ensuring the continuity of supply chains and regulating shipping movements to meet the strategic needs of the country while enhancing the efficiency of logistics management.

His Excellency highlighted the committee’s vital role in developing and implementing flexible operational and regulatory mechanisms. This includes monitoring and directing shipments through various routes in coordination with federal and local authorities, thereby enhancing readiness, sustainability, and overall system efficiency under varying conditions.

He added that a specialized national team for supply and transport has been established to manage shipping operations on a national level, support alternative routes, and continuously monitor markets. This ensures the efficient and stable flow of essential goods and enhances the speed of response to emerging challenges.

The committee has adopted a series of organizational and regulatory measures, including assessing the nation’s basic goods needs, updating priority lists, and approving comprehensive operational plans in collaboration with port operators. These efforts are directed at ensuring uninterrupted commercial flows.

Additionally, flexible licensing facilities for maritime and land transport companies have been introduced, along with support for logistics and transport companies, boosting mobility efficiency and ensuring service continuity.

His Excellency affirmed that the UAE has taken a proactive approach in developing its supply system by investing in advanced infrastructure, launching flexible initiatives, and strengthening partnerships with the private sector, which is a fundamental pillar in the operation and management of supply chains, aiding in enhancing operational efficiency and accelerating responses to changes.

He noted that the country’s ports have demonstrated high operational efficiency in navigating current conditions, supported by advanced management systems and flexible capacity. Precise regulatory measures have been implemented, including ship movement management based on established priorities and periodic operational reporting, ensuring operational fluidity and continuous goods flow. Moreover, marine assets along the eastern coast have been prepared and are operational at full capacity to serve as a strategic logistics gateway supporting trade continuity and enhancing the cohesion of the national network.

He also stated that the land and rail transport sectors are executing a comprehensive operational plan, which includes reorganizing transport routes and truck operating hours, and enhancing connections with storage centers to expedite goods flow and improve operational efficiency.

In a related context, His Excellency confirmed the ongoing monitoring of ships in national waters in coordination with relevant authorities, as part of an advanced oversight system guaranteeing high safety and navigational security standards. He pointed out continued efforts to enhance regional integration with Gulf Cooperation Council countries to facilitate goods movement and improve supply chain flexibility.

In a sign of operational efficiency and continuity, the nation’s ports have received over 25,000 containers since the beginning of the current month, reaffirming the logistics system’s readiness and its ability to maintain a stable rhythm.

These initiatives reflect an advanced Emirati model in supply chain management based on proactivity, integration, and partnership, enhancing economic security and reinforcing the country’s status as a leading global hub in transportation and logistics services.
