Fuel Price Hike in the UAE Set for April

The price monitoring committee has approved an increase in fuel derivatives for April 2026. The committee agreed to raise gasoline prices by 80 fils, while diesel will see a hike of 1.97 dirhams per liter compared to March 2026 prices.

Fuel distribution companies have announced the new prices, which will take effect from Wednesday, April 1, 2026. The updated pricing structure includes a 5% value-added tax.

The price for super gasoline (98 octane) has increased by 80 fils, rising from 2.59 dirhams in March to 3.39 dirhams in April. Similarly, the price for special gasoline (95 octane) has also gone up by 80 fils, from 2.48 dirhams in March to 3.28 dirhams in April. The price for E-plus gasoline (91 octane) has seen a similar increase of 80 fils, moving from 2.40 dirhams in March to 3.20 dirhams in April. Additionally, diesel prices will rise by 1.97 dirhams per liter, increasing from 2.72 dirhams in March to 4.69 dirhams in April.

In January 2026, the committee had previously decided on reductions across all fuel derivatives, marking the largest decrease in 53 months. Gasoline prices were lowered between 16 and 17 fils, representing a decline of over 6%, while diesel saw a reduction of 30 fils, translating to approximately 11% less per liter compared to prices in December 2025. February 2026 then followed with further reductions in fuel prices for the second consecutive month, with gasoline dropping by 8 to 9 fils and diesel decreasing by 3 fils per liter compared to January prices, resulting in the lowest prices since July 2021.
