High Readiness of Supply Chains and Strategic Inventory Efficiency in Various Markets
The Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdullah bin Touq Al Mari, conducted an on-site inspection at the fruit and vegetable market in Al Ain. The visit aimed to assess the availability of food products at fair prices, monitor adherence to sound business practices, and evaluate the efficiency of food supply chains, thereby enhancing market stability and ensuring consumer needs are met under various circumstances.

This visit is part of a series of inspections undertaken by the Minister to evaluate market conditions across the country. These efforts align with national initiatives aimed at bolstering strategic inventory and ensuring an ample supply of essential goods, particularly food items. The inspections also focus on tracking compliance among retailers with consumer protection policies and regulations, ensuring price transparency and market stability.
Supply Process
The Minister emphasized that securing food supply and protecting consumer rights in the UAE is a national priority in line with the directives of the leadership. He noted that the daily importation of food products is proceeding smoothly with adequate quantities available in warehouses and on shelves, with no signs of shortages or disruptions in the supply process. This reflects the high readiness of supply chains and the efficiency of strategic inventory across the nation’s markets.
Buy as Needed
The Minister encouraged consumers to purchase according to their needs and avoid excessive shopping to reduce waste, which helps stabilize prices and maintain product availability for all.
He added, “The UAE boasts a robust infrastructure and advanced logistics network that has reinforced the protection of essential supply chains since the onset of current circumstances, especially for food, medical, and industrial goods. This has been achieved by activating alternative pathways and developing a strategic inventory system that has formed a comprehensive and flexible network capable of redirecting supplies efficiently and in a timely manner.”
During the visit, the Minister observed the workflow within the market, from the reception of shipments to sorting and distribution operations, as well as the refrigerated storage systems that help maintain product quality and safety standards. The visit included oversight of trading activities reflecting organizational efficiency and diversity in supply sources, confirming the market’s readiness to address varying levels of demand and its ability to adapt to changes in consumption patterns.
The Minister also assessed the level of fluidity and integration among the entities operating within the market and their compliance with established operational standards.
