Dubai Ports World Implements Internal Corridors to Enhance Container Transport
Ahmed Hassan, the CEO and General Director of DP World in the Gulf Cooperation Council, announced that the organization has activated internal corridors to expedite container transport to Jebel Ali Port for clearance. Additionally, efforts are being made to bolster support at alternative ports, increase the capacity for refrigerated containers, and expand around-the-clock land transport operations in collaboration with relevant authorities in Dubai.
Hassan expressed DP World’s commitment to supporting the strategic objectives of the UAE and ensuring a continuous flow of goods to consumers and businesses. He noted that work teams are operating tirelessly with government entities, customs, and partners to provide flexible solutions for clients while maintaining operational efficiency.
He emphasized that global supply chains have demonstrated notable vulnerability over the past month amidst geopolitical challenges, indicating that the sector is undergoing swift adjustments to ensure the steady movement of goods.
Hassan explained that supply chains are beginning to adapt by redirecting shipments to alternative ports. He underscored that, despite these challenges, the flow of goods remains uninterrupted.
He also pointed out the increasing cost pressures arising from higher insurance fees, lengthier shipping routes, and reduced capacities. However, the company is actively working to mitigate these costs within its control.
Hassan affirmed that DP World’s longstanding expertise in global trade allows it to navigate various crises effectively. He emphasized that a rapid response, continuous coordination, and real-time adaptability are critical to serving customers. He reiterated that DP World’s top priority continues to be maintaining uninterrupted shipping operations.
