How to check your labour card online in the UAE

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), every employee must have an labour card, which is issued either by the Free Zone where they are employed or by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE), Khaleej Times has reported. This document serves as official proof of employment and contains the most important details about the work permit: position, employer and validity period of the permit. Without a valid labour card, working in the UAE is considered illegal and may result in administrative or legal consequences. The card also plays a key role for participants in the visa amnesty program, which is valid until December 31 and allows people to find work faster and legalize their stay in the country.

Due to recent changes in immigration procedures, the UAE no longer issues physical labour cards as a separate document. Instead, there is the option to download an electronic copy that you can print if you wish. Some workers prefer a digital version that is convenient to keep on their smartphone or tablet, but there are situations when a physical copy may be required, such as when submitting documents to government agencies or at the request of employers. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to download and, if necessary, print your work permit via the MoHRE website or mobile app, as well as information if you do not know your transaction number or other important details.

How to download and print your work permit via the MoHRE website

  • Visit the official website of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) at mohre.gov.ae.
  • In the top menu, find the “Services” section and select “New Inquiry Services”. You will be redirected to inquiry.mohre.gov.ae.
  • In the “Select Service” section, select “Print Electronic Work Permit”.
  • Fill out the form, indicating your Work Permit Number, Transaction Number, your personal code and date of birth. These data must match the information specified in the employment contract.
  • Click “Search”, after which the system will display your electronic labour card. Check the correctness of the information: name, employer, position, etc.
  • If you want to have a physical copy, find the “Print” option in the system and download the PDF file or print the document immediately.

This procedure allows you to legally confirm your right to work and be confident in the reliability of the data. If you find any errors or inaccuracies, you should contact your employer or MoHRE representatives to correct them as soon as possible.

How to use the MoHRE mobile application

For those who prefer mobile devices, there is an official MoHRE application, available on the App Store and Google Play. Follow these steps:

  • Log in to the MoHRE app using your UAE Pass, the only authentication system that allows you to securely access government e-services.
  • After successful login, click on “Employee”.
  • Enter your labour card number in the field provided. If you do not remember it, please check your employment contract or contact your employer.
  • The app will display the card details. You can check if all the information is up to date – position, permit validity, name of your employer.
  • If you need to print the electronic version, select the “Print” option and save the PDF file, which you can then send to a printer or email.

How to find out the details if you are unsure of your number

In some cases, an employee may not remember the transaction number or other details. In this situation, there are several ways to get the necessary information:

  • Contact MoHRE by phone. Dial 600 590000 and be prepared to provide your Emirates ID (UAE ID number) when you call. After verification, the call center staff will be able to provide your employment details or help you clarify your details.
  • Verification in the mobile application. After logging in to the MoHRE App, visit the Dashboard section, where most of your personal information related to employment is displayed. However, keep in mind that the Transaction Number is usually not displayed there, so if you need it, look in your employment contract or call the hotline.

Thus, the availability and relevance of an employment card is one of the key points that guarantees the transparency and legality of your employment in the UAE. By maintaining it in proper condition, you not only comply with the requirements of migration and labor legislation, but also ensure reliable access to social and medical benefits, as well as peaceful professional activities.
