Disney has announced plans to construct its seventh amusement park, which will be located in the United Arab Emirates, as stated on May 7.
### Project Overview
The new waterfront resort will be situated on Yas Island, just outside of Abu Dhabi, an area already featuring attractions such as the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, SeaWorld, and a water park.
Abu Dhabi serves as the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which consists of seven emirates on the Arabian Peninsula. With a population of around 9 million, the city has successfully utilized its major airlines, Emirates and Etihad Airways, to attract an increasing number of tourists. A real estate boom coupled with record tourism has transformed Dubai into both a popular destination and a transit hub.
### Future Prospects
Disney, along with Miral, the developer behind this project in Abu Dhabi, is aiming to benefit from the substantial influx of travelers, as approximately 120 million airline passengers pass through both Abu Dhabi and Dubai each year.
Abu Dhabi is already home to the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and several more museums are under construction, showcasing the city’s growing cultural landscape.
### Cultural Shift
Traditionally considered more conservative compared to the vibrant nightlife and beaches of Dubai, Abu Dhabi is expanding its cultural offerings, further establishing itself as a noteworthy destination for both residents and tourists.
