The United States and the United Arab Emirates have finalized an agreement that will allow Abu Dhabi to purchase cutting-edge AI chips from American manufacturers, according to a statement made by U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday.

Trump referred to the deal as “quite substantial” during his final day in the region.

Earlier in the week, Reuters reported that a preliminary agreement allows the UAE to import up to 500,000 advanced AI chips from Nvidia each year, beginning in 2025. Nvidia has chosen not to comment on this development.

This announcement coincides with a recent agreement between Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to deliver semiconductors to Saudi AI startup Humain. Additionally, Trump disclosed various other agreements during his visit, including a $142 billion military equipment and services deal between Saudi Arabia and U.S. defense contractors, as well as a sizable aircraft order from Qatar Airways to Boeing.

The White House has not provided a comment on this matter.
