In a fantastic display of solidarity and community spirit, the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) has officially secured a place in the Guinness World Records for crafting the largest UAE flag composed of handprints, which includes 24,514 unique imprints from individuals representing more than 100 nationalities, as reported by Arab News.
This record-breaking flag was revealed during a special event held at the Pakistan Auditorium, PAD, where a Guinness World Records official verified the accomplishment.
The ceremony saw the participation of over 250 attendees, including the Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, and Consul General Hussain Muhammad.
This achievement is part of PAD’s Hands of Unity initiative, a month-long campaign aligned with the UAE’s Year of Community. The project engaged participants from 23 schools and universities, as well as 39 activation sites throughout the Emirates, according to Gulf Today.
The record was awarded collaboratively to the Pakistan Association Dubai, the community initiative Emirates Loves, and Rubab Zahra, the artist and visionary responsible for the flag.
Founded in the 1960s, PAD is a non-profit organization run by volunteers dedicated to serving the Pakistani expatriate community in the UAE by enhancing social welfare, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering community development among the Pakistani diaspora.
As the UAE celebrates the Year of Community, PAD is emphasizing the importance of diaspora communities in promoting cross-cultural understanding, one handprint at a time.
