Dubai International Airport has maintained its status as the world’s largest international airport in terms of scheduled passenger capacity for June, according to the latest monthly report from OAG, the global aviation data provider.
Data reveals that over 5 million seats were scheduled for international flights at Dubai Airport in June 2025, a rise from approximately 4.93 million seats in June of the previous year, reflecting a growth rate of about 1.4%.
This increase in capacity comes as Dubai Airport continues to demonstrate strong performance with a rise in flight frequencies and the opening of additional terminals compared to last year.
OAG reported that Dubai International Airport remains the busiest international airport in June based on the number of seats scheduled by airlines for international flights. London Heathrow ranks second with over 4.1 million seats, followed closely by Amsterdam Airport with around 3.54 million seats scheduled, Singapore Airport with 3.53 million, and Istanbul Airport with 3.51 million seats. Following these were Paris Charles de Gaulle, Incheon, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, and Doha airports.
The data also indicated that Dubai International Airport secured the second position worldwide for total passenger capacity, combining both international and domestic flights, with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport leading with 5.5 million scheduled seats. Chicago O’Hare Airport follows, ranking third with around 4.577 million seats, followed by Dallas Fort Worth International Airport with approximately 4.73 million seats.
In the first quarter of this year, Dubai International Airport recorded 15.24 million seats (30.48 million in both directions), affirming its top position among the world’s airports as per OAG’s periodic report.
Last year, the airport welcomed 92.3 million passengers, marking the highest annual traffic in its history, surpassing the previous record of 89.1 million passengers set in 2018.
Dubai International Airport operates flights to 272 destinations across 107 countries, served by 106 international airlines, and continues to set new standards as one of the premier airports globally.
