Dubai Airports played a significant role in fulfilling a seemingly simple yet profound wish: granting a father of a passenger an official entry stamp into Dubai, something he had never received before. This heartfelt gesture embodies the values of the “Year of Community” in the United Arab Emirates.
Haj Jamaluddin arrived in Dubai for the first time from Mumbai aboard a ship on February 26, 1965. He vividly remembers that moment, as there was no port at the time, and the city was just beginning to take shape. Now, sixty years later, his son wanted to commemorate that journey in a special way, honoring his father with a new entry stamp into Dubai, symbolizing decades of loyalty and connection to a city that has become more than just a place, but a homeland.
With support from Dubai Airports, this touching idea became a reality. Haj Jamaluddin shared, “This new stamp is not just a mark in my passport; it is a tribute to a lifetime that Dubai has generously blessed us with. My son wanted to honor those years, and thanks to Dubai Airports’ cooperation, he was able to do so.”
Jamaluddin is a prominent educational figure, being the founder and chairman of the Al Hilal English Secondary School, which he established in 1984 and has significantly contributed to shaping the future of thousands of students. Today, the school hosts over 1,700 students and is recognized as one of the affordable private schools in the UAE. His educational philosophy is clear: “Money isn’t everything; education is the strongest weapon for knowledge.”
As an active contributor to Dubai’s social fabric, Jamaluddin attributes his deep sense of belonging to the inspiring vision of the UAE leadership, particularly the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who he frequently saw visiting work sites in the early hours of the morning. He remarked, “He was always among the people, and today, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, continues this approach. That is what makes Dubai what it is today.”
In continuation of this compassionate gesture, Dubai Airports organized an introductory visit for a group of students from Al Hilal English Secondary School to Dubai International Airport (DXB), allowing them to explore the behind-the-scenes operations and learn about the crucial role the airport plays in connecting people from various parts of the world.
