The United Arab Emirates accounted for 63% of Saudi Arabia’s total imports during the first quarter of this year, reaching a value of 11.8 billion Saudi Riyals.
Data released by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics indicated that the kingdom’s commodity imports from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries totaled 18.7 billion Riyals in the first quarter of 2023, reflecting a decrease of 14% compared to the same period in 2022, according to the platform “Aqarm.”
Oman ranked second with approximately 3.9 billion Riyals during the same period, capturing 21% of Saudi imports. Bahrain followed in third place with about 2.2 billion Riyals, making up 12%, while Kuwait came fourth with around 427.3 million Riyals, accounting for 2.5%. Qatar was fifth with roughly 367.2 million Riyals, also representing 1.5%.
