The Government of the United Arab Emirates has signed a memorandum of further cooperation with the Olena Zelenska Foundation. This was announced during a meeting between the UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimi and the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, reported by President of Ukraine.
The UAE Government provided laptops to Ukrainian schoolchildren
Olena Zelenska thanked Reem Al Hashimi and the entire government of the Emirate for their consistent cooperation. “I am also grateful to you for your participation in child safety events, including the event organized by the Community of First Ladies and Gentlemen,” said the wife of the President of Ukraine.
According to her, the cooperation between the Foundation and the United Arab Emirates is an example of the most effective partnership with practical and very tangible results. In particular, the UAE Government is one of the main partners in providing laptops to schoolchildren from the border and frontline regions of Ukraine. Thanks to this device for online learning, 12.5 thousand students in seven regions of Ukraine have already received it. In addition, the United Arab Emirates donated medical equipment and 50 ambulances to Ukrainian doctors.
The UAE Government has become a partner of the Childhood Room project
Olena Zelenska separately noted that the UAE Government has become the first partner of the Childhood Room project, supporting the construction of 10 houses in 2023 for large foster families who lost their homes due to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The new memorandum provides that the UAE will help build housing for 10 more families.
“This project has proven its 100% effectiveness. We are not only building houses for large foster families who have lost their homes, but we are also giving parents the opportunity to take new children from residential institutions. Thus, even more children will have a chance to grow up in a family. Thank you for believing in this project,” said the first lady.
