Sheikh Hamdan opens largest-ever IDEX in Abu Dhabi

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, on Monday Abu Dhabi: inaugurated the 17th International Defense Exhibition (IDEX 2025). This year’s exhibition is the largest in IDEX’s history, bringing together leading global defense companies, senior military officials and key decision-makers, reported Gulf News.

IDEX 2025: 213 UAE companies

IDEX 2025, the largest in its history, includes 1,565 companies from 65 countries, a 16% increase over the previous exhibition. In particular, 213 UAE companies are participating in the exhibition, demonstrating the growth of the country’s defense industry. “The UAE remains committed to promoting global peace,” Sheikh Hamdan stressed, underlining the nation’s commitment to maintaining security and stability.

Seven countries, including Qatar, Ethiopia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Cyprus, are making their debut at IDEX. In addition, the newly opened Hall 14 will host 341 exhibitors, further expanding the diversity and scale of the exhibition. IDEX 2025 will feature a wide range of events and discussions that will bring together policymakers, thought leaders, influencers and industry pioneers to explore groundbreaking innovations that will shape the future of the defense industry worldwide.

IDEX 2025: Dedicated Platforms for Startups

The event will also host dedicated platforms for startups, offering emerging companies the opportunity to showcase their innovations. The event brings together the world’s leading defense companies to showcase cutting-edge technologies in ground and air defense, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

A key highlight is the first global CBRN center, which combats threats related to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive weapons. IDEX 2025 is an important platform to strengthen international defense partnerships and stimulate innovation in the sector.
