Cisco has revealed insights specific to the UAE from its global study on networking, highlighting a significant structural transformation currently occurring within enterprise networks. The widespread adoption of connected devices, the need for continuous operation, and the rise in security threats are prompting infrastructures to adapt and evolve. The findings indicate that IT leaders are reassessing the nature of networks, their enabling capacities, and how they safeguard businesses, as the networks constructed today will define their operational landscape in the future.
According to the survey, 67% of respondents believe that their data centers are unable to meet current artificial intelligence demands, and 92% plan to increase the capacity of these centers either locally, in the cloud, or through a combination of both. Furthermore, 99% of business leaders consider AI-powered autonomous networks essential for future growth; however, only 47% have implemented intelligent capabilities such as segmentation, visibility, and control to enhance the adaptability of their networks.
A significant 98% of survey participants asserted that access to modern networks is crucial for the deployment of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and cloud services. Moreover, 97% of IT leaders intend to raise the proportion of their budgets allocated to networking.
The survey revealed that 99% of participants view the availability of secure networks as vital for their operations and growth, with 68% deeming it extremely important. Furthermore, 97% believe that network enhancements will bolster their cybersecurity posture, while 99% consider a resilient network to be of utmost significance.
In terms of revenue impact, 55% of respondents indicated that the greatest effect of modern networks will arise from deploying AI tools that automate and design customer journeys and experiences, enabling quicker, more personalized interactions that foster loyalty and drive growth.
Currently, IT leaders in the UAE are realizing financial value from today’s networks primarily through improving customer experiences (59%), enhancing efficiency (57%), and enabling innovation (56%).
