Abu Dhabi Ports Launches Office in Islamabad

Abu Dhabi Ports Group has opened its inaugural representative office in Islamabad, Pakistan, marking a significant move towards international expansion and reaffirming its ongoing commitment to supporting business and logistics growth in South and Central Asia.

The new office in Islamabad enhances the group’s global presence, which spans over 140 offices worldwide. Its strategic location near federal ministries and major government institutions will serve as a vital link to foster collaboration with various governmental entities, facilitating the execution of priority projects in infrastructure and commercial services.

The opening ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, the regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and Abdulaziz Al Blooshi, the group’s regional CEO, along with other senior officials.

From the Pakistani side, notable attendees included Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Choudhary, Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Minister of Railways, Jam Kamal, Minister of Commerce, Atif Sattar Tarar, Minister of Information, and Khalid Hussain Maki, Minister of Science and Technology.

This inauguration follows the group’s announcement of strategic investments amounting to $295 million aimed at developing and enhancing container, general cargo, and bulk handling capabilities at the eastern wharf of the Port of Karachi.
