Dubai International Airport Prepares for High Travel Season

Dubai International Airport is gearing up for an exceptional peak travel period as the summer break comes to an end, with families and students returning to the city in anticipation of the new academic year. From August 13 to 25, the airport is expected to welcome over 3.6 million travelers, averaging around 280,000 daily passengers. Notably, Friday, August 15, is projected to be the busiest day, with passenger numbers exceeding 290,000.

In the first half of this year, Dubai International Airport recorded its highest ever passenger traffic, having hosted 9.88 million international visitors – an increase of 6% compared to the same period last year. The airport served more than 46 million travelers, further solidifying its position as the world’s busiest airport for international passenger traffic.

Ensuring a Smooth Travel Experience

To facilitate a comfortable and efficient travel experience, Dubai Airports is coordinating closely with partners within the oneDXB community, including airlines, regulatory bodies, and business service partners, to streamline the flow of travelers. They have also released a comprehensive guide offering essential tips to navigate the peak travel period. Families can utilize smart gates to expedite the passport control process for children over the age of 12.

Travelers are advised to keep their passports, boarding passes, and any necessary visas or documents readily accessible to speed up entry. Additionally, guests can use the Dubai Metro at Terminals 1 and 3, or choose from various transportation options including Uber, Careem, Dubai taxis, and car rental services. Special assistance for individuals with disabilities is also available, featuring dedicated pathways and discreet support for guests wearing identification wristbands, along with a specialized lounge in Terminal 2.
