Dubai Chambers concluded its participation in the 14th Global Chambers of Commerce Conference, which was organized by the World Chambers Federation in Melbourne, Australia, from September 2 to 4. During this event, over 25 bilateral meetings were conducted with local and international government bodies, private organizations, and chambers of commerce. The aim was to showcase the potential economic opportunities in Dubai and discuss ways to enhance trade and investment relationships between the business community in the emirate and their counterparts worldwide.
During the event, Dubai Chambers signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to foster collaboration aimed at attracting Australian companies to Dubai. This agreement also supports the expansion of Dubai Chamber members in Victoria and promotes joint efforts regarding specialized trade events, investment missions, and the exchange of commercial and economic information.
In a panel discussion titled “Impacts and Consequences of Emerging Changes in the Global Landscape,” Mohammed Lootah, the Director General of Dubai Chambers, emphasized that capital consistently flows towards business hubs characterized by stable and diversified economies, as well as a secure and flexible investment climate. These are key attributes of Dubai, which boasts a modern and open business environment, earning strong global investor confidence amid global changes. He pointed out that Dubai is an ideal destination for business expansion and serves as a pivotal center for stability and growth in global trade.
The 14th Global Chambers of Commerce Conference also saw the launch of the “Benchmarking Tool for Chambers of Commerce,” developed by Dubai Chambers in partnership with the International Chamber of Commerce and the World Chambers Federation. This tool allows chambers of commerce to evaluate and compare their best practices concerning operational excellence, along with seven key areas associated with their roles and responsibilities, against regional and global standards. The event was attended by officials from over 1,200 chambers of commerce from 100 countries.
