The center announced a 13% increase in the number of companies from Southeast Asia registered within its free zone over the past twelve months, bringing the total to over 650 companies, including more than 30 from Indonesia.
Additionally, direct investments from the UAE have spurred the launch of major new projects in strategic sectors, including renewable energy and advanced technological infrastructure, creating vast opportunities for joint cooperation.
The center aims to deepen its collaboration with the Indonesian business community and attract further investments in areas such as energy, food, agriculture, technology, and Islamic economy.
Meanwhile, the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange, associated with the center, demonstrated robust performance in the first half of this year, with the value of Sharia-compliant spot gold contracts soaring by approximately 200% year-on-year, reaching $46.8 million.
Abdullah Al-Zaheri, the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia and non-resident Ambassador to Timor-Leste and ASEAN, remarked, “This event is not merely a business meeting but a gateway for Indonesian partners to comprehend and explore the vast opportunities that the UAE offers for living, working, investing, and thriving.”
He emphasized that the strong economic partnerships are rooted in the solid relationships between the leadership of both nations, especially between His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and President Joko Widodo of Indonesia, who has visited the UAE twice since assuming office.
The true strength of the bilateral relations stems from the deep connections between the peoples and trade exchanges.
The UAE reiterates its commitment to enhancing its partnership with Indonesia across various sectors, including trade, investment, innovation, and others.
We, at the UAE Embassy in Jakarta, are fully prepared to support all partners aiming to achieve this ambition.
Together, we look forward to building a more prosperous future based on mutual respect, shared prosperity, and enduring friendship.
With over 650 companies from Southeast Asia within our business community, the center currently hosts approximately 20% of all Indonesian companies operating in the UAE.
