37% Increase in New Professional Licenses Issued in Ajman During the First Half of 2025

Statistics from the Economic Development Department in Ajman indicate a remarkable growth of 37% in new professional licenses during the first half of 2025. This report was released by the Ajman Competitiveness Office.

In this period, the number of new licenses issued rose by 24%, with industrial licenses increasing by 11% and commercial licenses by 9%. Additionally, renewed licenses saw a growth of 8%, including a 9% increase in commercial and industrial licenses. Professional licenses also grew by 8% when compared to the previous year.

The number of new investors grew by 24% compared to the same period last year, supporting the emirate’s efforts to enhance competitiveness and attract more investments. This growth contributed to an overall net increase of 8% in active licenses during the first half of 2025.

The report identified the nationalities with the highest number of issued licenses, noting two new additions—Ethiopia and Sudan—which entered the top ten for the first time.

According to Saif Al Suwaidi, the Director General of the Economic Development Department in Ajman, “These indicators reflect the success of governmental efforts to establish Ajman as an attractive destination for investment and entrepreneurship, thanks to the quality initiatives launched by the department to enhance the business environment and streamline procedures.”

He further stated that these developments align with the government’s commitment to reducing bureaucracy, ensuring that services are smart, fast, and transparent to meet client expectations and bolster the emirate’s competitiveness. The observed growth in active licenses showcases investor confidence in the local market and underscores the robustness of the national economy in alignment with the goals of Ajman Vision 2030.
