Ras Al Khaimah Customs Signs Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Logistics Services System

The Ras Al Khaimah Customs Department has formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Logistics Services Network (NXN), a division of Seven X (7X). This collaboration aims to enhance the logistics service framework and improve the operational efficiency related to shipping and customs clearance. This initiative aligns with the government’s goals in Ras Al Khaimah to reinforce institutional integration and solidify the emirate’s position as a leading regional and international logistics hub.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Rashid Rashid Al Mahrizi, the Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Customs, and Tarek Ahmed Al Wahidi, the CEO of Seven X (7X), in the presence of officials from both sides, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnerships in supporting economic development.

This agreement is part of a shared vision focused on refining domestic and international shipping mechanisms, enhancing the management and operation of customs warehouses in line with global best practices. The goal is to boost the competitiveness of Ras Al Khaimah and improve its business environment.

The collaboration details include promoting the integration of digital systems between the two parties, as well as sharing expertise in digital transformation and logistics services. This partnership is expected to expedite and simplify procedures while improving the quality of services provided to various stakeholders. Additionally, the collaboration will focus on developing customs clearance and shipping services, enhancing goods movement through the emirate’s sea and air ports, and offering comprehensive shipping solutions that accommodate both cash and credit payment methods, thereby facilitating trade flow and improving port efficiency in Ras Al Khaimah.

The MoU also outlines plans to explore opportunities to expand the cooperation to reinforce the role of the National Logistics Services Network (NXN) as a comprehensive national hub for freight and parcel services across the UAE. This effort aims to establish a cohesive logistics network that connects Ras Al Khaimah with the other emirates and global markets.

This collaboration underscores the commitment of both parties to support sustainable development, enhance integration between government entities and national institutions, and align with the strategic objectives of the emirate, strengthening its contribution to the national economy while promoting a more efficient and competitive economic landscape.
