UAE and France Investigate Collaborative Opportunities in Hydrogen and Nuclear Energy

PARIS – A delegation from the UAE concluded a three-day visit to France, where they explored collaboration opportunities and shared best practices with prominent French organizations to find innovative solutions for the upcoming challenges in energy transition.

This visit was part of the UAE’s initiative to foster partnerships with other nations in the pursuit of sustainable development and to improve energy security. Key discussion points included progress in regulations and infrastructure for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), hydrogen technologies, nuclear advancements, and strategies for decarbonisation.

The delegation was led by Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. The team included Mohammed Al Hawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment, along with representatives from AMMROC, Emirates, the General Civil Aviation Authority, Bee’ah, Masdar, Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation, and Lootah BioFuel.
