In March 2025, hotel establishments in Abu Dhabi reported revenues totaling 611 million dirhams, of which 345 million dirhams came from room bookings, 228 million dirhams from food and beverage services, and 38 million dirhams from other sources.
According to preliminary data from the Department of Culture and Tourism, published by the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center, hotels in the emirate welcomed approximately 417,000 guests in March 2025. This reflects the increasing appeal of Abu Dhabi as a global tourist destination, bolstered by a variety of accommodation options and enhanced hotel service levels.
During March, a total of 171 hotel establishments provided services to visitors, offering 34,341 hotel rooms. The total number of overnight stays exceeded 1.2 million, resulting in an occupancy rate of 69%, with the average revenue per room reaching around 486 dirhams.
Guests from non-Arab Asian countries topped the visitor count with 152,000 arrivals, followed by European tourists at 123,000 and Emirati nationals at 58,000. This data indicates the continued growth of the tourism sector in the emirate, reinforcing its status as a preferred destination for tourists from various global markets.
By hotel classification, five-star hotels had the highest number of guests, with a total of 205,000, primarily consisting of European visitors at 78,000. Additionally, four-star hotels accommodated 119,000 guests, while three-star and lower-rated hotels hosted 54,000, along with 38,000 guests in serviced apartments.
This positive performance underscores ongoing efforts to diversify the tourism product in the emirate and enhance the hospitality experience in alignment with Abu Dhabi’s 2030 tourism strategy, which aims to attract 39.3 million visitors annually, create 178,000 new jobs in the sector, increase hotel capacity to 50,000 rooms, and boost the tourism sector’s contribution to the GDP to 90 billion dirhams by the end of the current decade.
