Ministry of Finance Trains Citizens in Financial Sustainability and Government Accounting

The Ministry of Finance has announced the graduation of 100 federal government employees who have successfully completed a series of specialized programs and diplomas in financial sustainability and public accounting during a ceremony held in Dubai today.

This initiative underscores the ministry’s ongoing commitment to equipping national talents capable of leading the future of public financial management in the country. It is part of a comprehensive project launched by the ministry aimed at enhancing the financial capabilities of federal government staff, ensuring their preparedness for the future, and establishing best practices in financial management according to the highest global standards.

The event was attended by H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Government Financial Management at the Ministry of Finance; Dr. Kyle Long, President of the American University in Dubai; Lucia Martin, Executive Director of Relations Management at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK; along with several departmental directors from federal entities and representatives from international academic and professional institutions.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Government Financial Management remarked that this achievement reflects the ministry’s continuous commitment to developing human capital and equipping it with the tools and knowledge needed to keep pace with the rapidly changing landscape in accounting and public finance. She noted that these specialized programs are a cornerstone in developing the financial work system, reinforcing governance principles, supporting sustainable digital transformation, and achieving the strategic objectives of the UAE government in public financial management.

The American University President emphasized the university’s dedication to continuing its partnership with the Ministry of Finance to support national competencies in artificial intelligence, financial technologies, and sustainable policies, highlighting that the program aligns with the UAE government’s goals to develop national talents, enhance financial efficiency, and achieve digital transformation and AI integration.

The Executive Director of Relations at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK stated that the participants gained deep insights into financial management, governance, sustainability, and digital transformation, which contributes to reinforcing the concept of lifelong learning, now an urgent necessity in a rapidly changing world.
