Etihad Airways Transports 8.4 Million Passengers in 5 Months

Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has transported 8.4 million passengers in the first five months of this year, marking a 17% increase compared to the same period in 2024, while maintaining a load factor of 87%.

According to a press release detailing preliminary results for passenger traffic in May 2025, the airline welcomed 1.7 million travelers during the month, which represents a 19% rise from last year’s figures.

This ongoing growth reflects the airline’s strategic expansion and solid market position. The passenger load factor increased to 87%, up from 84% in May 2024, highlighting Etihad’s capability to enhance its capacity while keeping up with strong demand.

Currently, Etihad’s fleet consists of 100 aircraft, which supports its expanding network and sophisticated services.

On this occasion, Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves stated, “We have experienced consistent and satisfying growth in our operations, with a 19% year-over-year increase in passenger numbers, affirming our status as the fastest-growing airline in the Middle East. Our year-to-date results indicate that over 8 million passengers have flown with us in 2025, with nearly 20 million travelers in the last 12 months, reflecting significant confidence in Etihad Airways’ services.
