Emirati “Autokraft” Develops Sustainable System for Electric Vertical Takeoff Aircraft

The Kintsugi Group, owned by the government of the UAE and engaged in artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, has expanded its international presence in the air mobility sector. This was marked by a strategic memorandum of understanding signed between its subsidiary, Autokraft, which specializes in aviation, and GMF AeroAsia, a leading aircraft maintenance provider in Indonesia.

This agreement was formalized during the Indonesian Defense Exhibition and Conference 2025, representing a significant step towards developing a sustainable and integrated system for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in Southeast Asia. Under this collaboration, GMF will serve as the official partner for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) for Autokraft’s flagship E20+ aircraft. The memorandum also entails joint efforts in knowledge sharing, technical training, and regulatory compliance to support the evolution of sustainable air mobility in the region.

According to Tareq Al-Banai, Vice President of Future Systems at Kintsugi, “This collaboration with GMF marks a crucial step in our initiative to localize the support capabilities of next-generation aviation. We are working together to establish a framework that supports the introduction and sustainability of clean air mobility solutions in Indonesia.”

Andy Fajarowzi, CEO of GMF AeroAsia, added, “Our involvement in this groundbreaking concept of emission-free air mobility led by Autokraft underscores our commitment to achieving a sustainable transformation in the aviation sector. This strategic partnership unifies engineering strength, environmental consciousness, and long-term growth.”

This partnership exemplifies the shared ambition of both parties to enhance the resilience of the regional aviation sector and contribute to global sustainability goals. As part of the memorandum, Kintsugi’s services and operations team will cooperate closely with GMF to develop frameworks for diagnostic operations, updates, and ensuring the readiness of the E20+ platform, fully aligned with the regulatory environment in Indonesia.

The announcement coincided with Kintsugi’s robust participation in the Indonesian Defense Exhibition, where its subsidiaries, Autokraft and Eniron, showcased next-generation innovations in both air and ground mobility. Eniron introduced its hybrid vehicle, the Magnum MK1, designed for tactical and law enforcement operations in urban environments.

The UAE delegation’s booth attracted numerous prominent Indonesian figures, including military and national police leaders who expressed significant interest in the Magnum vehicle, which had gained notable attention at previous exhibitions such as IDEX 2025 and GITEX Global.

At the conclusion of the event, Tareq Al-Banai remarked, “We are pleased with the positive feedback we received in Indonesia. This market is full of opportunities, and as an Emirati company, we believe in the importance of establishing sustainable strategic partnerships in the region.”

Both the E20+ aircraft and the Magnum MK1 vehicle reflect Kintsugi’s commitment to delivering intelligent and practical solutions in mobility, defense, and sustainability, while the group continues to broaden its operational scope through strategic partnerships that enhance technological sovereignty and regional capacity building.
