Dubai Holding’s real estate arm, Nakheel, has announced the awarding of three significant contracts totaling over AED 750 million for infrastructure work at the Palm Jebel Ali project. This initiative is expected to be completed by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026.
The contracts awarded to DBB Contracting represent a pivotal step in the ongoing development of this prominent waterfront destination in Dubai. DBB Contracting has a proven track record with projects at Palm Jebel Ali, having previously secured contracts for other infrastructure developments on the island, including public roads and construction access routes.
The Palm Jebel Ali project is among Nakheel’s most ambitious, setting a new standard for waterfront living and providing an exceptional array of modern amenities. It is anticipated to significantly contribute to Dubai’s growth over the coming decades and aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). This project marks the beginning of a new phase of urban expansion in the Jebel Ali area, inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to establish Dubai as the world’s best city for living, working, and visiting, while furthering the emirate’s urban development.
On this occasion, Khaled Al Malek, CEO of Dubai Holding’s real estate sector, remarked, “The substantial Palm Jebel Ali project embodies Dubai’s ambition to redefine luxury living standards along the global waterfront. We aim for this landmark initiative to transform the urban landscape of the city, guided by our leadership’s vision for Dubai’s future, as we strive to create an international destination that attracts residents, tourists, and investors. We are pleased to continue our partnership with DBB Contracting, an experienced collaborator with a strong record of achievements and a commitment to quality, which will ensure the successful execution of this vital project.”
Additionally, Eugénie Patrick Terbilanch, General Manager of DBB Contracting, stated, “We are proud to be part of this landmark initiative and look forward to collaborating with Nakheel to shape Dubai’s future. With our expertise and dedication to excellence, we are excited to realize this ambitious project.”
The comprehensive infrastructure works spanning the fronds from A to G will include utility connections, all associated excavation and backfilling works, and road and sidewalk construction. This scope will also cover all utility works related to the 11kV power distribution and telecommunications. In the central area, works will include major utility installations, connecting all utility links on the fronds, and the construction of all major and secondary roads. Additionally, the scope encompasses land grading and preparation for the electricity connection line from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), which serves Palm Jebel Ali, along with related tasks.
The seven islands of Palm Jebel Ali stretch over 13.4 kilometers and include 16 fronds with a 90-kilometer shoreline, in line with the goal of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 to enhance access to public beaches.
This project aims to set a new benchmark for luxury waterfront living by creating mixed-use urban neighborhoods that blend residential, recreational, and retail spaces in pedestrian-friendly environments, offering stunning views of the Arabian Gulf. Residents and visitors will find various recreational areas supported by smart, eco-friendly infrastructure and an advanced transportation network that seamlessly connects all project features with the surrounding areas.
