A delegation from the Civil Aviation sector of the UAE has discussed enhancing technical and commercial cooperation in civil aviation with relevant authorities in China, aiming to elevate the strategic partnership between the two nations to new heights.
The delegation was led by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and included Badr Salem Al Olama, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Engineer Ismail Hassan Al Blushi, Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation Authority, and representatives from the GCAA, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Edge Group, and the Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation Authority.
Saif Al Suwaidi highlighted that the UAE-China collaboration in aviation is experiencing continuous growth, backed by strategic agreements and robust bilateral relations. He pointed out that the visit aims to expand partnership opportunities, particularly in manufacturing, technical licensing, and knowledge exchange.
The official visit included field tours in Shanghai, where the delegation held meetings with several leading Chinese companies, including COMAC, T-Kab Technologies, AutoFlight International, and CITIC Linse, which specializes in aviation navigation systems.
During their visit to COMAC facilities, the delegation met with the company’s Vice President, Mr. Shen Bo, to explore industrial and technical cooperation opportunities.
In Beijing, formal meetings were held with the Civil Aviation Administration of China and air navigation service providers, where both sides discussed collaboration possibilities in areas such as regulation, maintenance, licensing, air navigation, and institutional development.
The visit concluded with a meeting between Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi and delegation members with Song Qiong, President of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, where future cooperation prospects were reviewed, reaffirming the strength of the bilateral relationship in civil aviation.
