The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has experienced remarkable growth in economic activity during the first half of 2025, driven by a significant increase in both the number and diversity of business licenses, according to a report from the emirate’s Department of Economic Development.
The report, presented by Amina Qattan Al Shihi, Director of Commercial Affairs at the Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah, revealed a 14.5% rise in the total capital of active licenses registered in the department, amounting to 10.2 billion dirhams in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2024.
Additionally, the number of active licenses in the emirate grew by 6%, indicating a sustained momentum in the business environment and the appeal of investment in Ras Al Khaimah. Industrial licenses took the lead in growth, increasing by 14.3%, followed by professional licenses with a 6% rise, and commercial licenses growing by 5%.
These indicators reflect the ongoing economic expansion of the emirate, supported by the directives of wise leadership and a range of regulatory facilitation measures that have enhanced the ease of doing business and attracted more local and international investors.
Moreover, the first half of this year saw a significant number of new licenses issued, up 17.6% from the same period last year. Industrial licenses recorded the highest growth rate at 111%, while professional licenses increased by 20%, and commercial licenses by 12.6%.
