The Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah has launched the fifth edition of the “Young Entrepreneur” exhibition. This initiative aims to equip 16 students aged between 14 and 17 with the skills needed to enter the business world early through practical experiences that simulate a real market environment. The exhibition is taking place at the Manar Mall.
Aisha Obaid Al Ayhan, Director of the Business Development Department at the Economic Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah, stated that the exhibition marks the third and final phase of the “Young Entrepreneur” summer program, which has been running for five years. The program’s goal is to nurture a promising generation of future small business owners through an intensive training course covering both knowledge and skills, followed by on-the-ground training, culminating in a hands-on experience in showcasing products and services at one of the major shopping centers in the emirate.
She noted that the program received over 150 applications from interested candidates, with interviews conducted to select 16 students—eight males and eight females.
The program consists of three stages, beginning with intensive training workshops in the first phase, conducted in collaboration with various companies and institutions within and beyond Ras Al Khaimah.
In the second phase, participants undergo practical training within commercial establishments.
