Dubai Customs has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing operational readiness and integration with significant strategic projects. Dr. Abdullah Boushnad, the Director General of Dubai Customs, recently visited the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation project, a platform under Dubai South dedicated to the growth and development of the aviation industry.

During the visit, Dr. Boushnad reviewed the progress at the newly opened customs inspection center and toured the project’s aviation building. He also met with several key figures, including: Khalifa Al Zafi, CEO of Dubai Aviation City Corporation; Tahnoon Saif, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation project; Mohsen Ahmed, Executive Director of the logistics area; and Abd al-Basit Al Marzouqi, Deputy Executive Director of the logistics area.

Throughout his tour, the Director General examined the customs inspection center, which has been equipped with cutting-edge smart systems and advanced technologies aimed at enhancing customs operational efficiency. His itinerary included a visit to Lufthansa’s headquarters, the dynamic zone for engine maintenance centers, and repair workshops. The tour also featured stops at the headquarters of It Wings, a logistics service provider in the aviation sector and supply chain management, GE Aerospace, a global leader in aircraft engine manufacturing and aviation technology innovations, and Yeadis Air, a specialized aviation service company focusing on aircraft maintenance and repairs, along with the private aviation facility and its operational and technical amenities.

Dr. Boushnad praised the high level of integrated logistics infrastructure within the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation project, which plays a vital role in delivering top-notch services to the aviation sector and supports the emirate’s vision of becoming a global aviation hub. He emphasized that improving customs services not only boosts tourism and aviation traffic but also solidifies Dubai’s position as a leading logistics and tourism center on regional and international levels.

The visit served as a significant opportunity to strengthen collaboration between Dubai Customs and the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation project. This project offers promising investment opportunities for global companies and serves as a free zone for leading aviation firms, private aviation operators, and companies involved in aircraft maintenance, repair, and refurbishing activities.
