UAE Showcases Investment Opportunities and Enhances Cooperation with Mali

The United Arab Emirates discussed investment opportunities available in the Republic of Mali during an UAE-Mali business meeting held by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Federation of UAE Chambers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Vice President of the Federation of UAE Chambers and Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber, welcomed a trade delegation from Mali that is visiting the UAE from August 13 to the present. He praised the growing bilateral relations between the two friendly nations and noted that the proposed investment opportunities are attracting Emirati investors, particularly in light of the emphasis on boosting foreign investments as part of economic diversification strategies.

Al Owais affirmed the willingness of the UAE chambers, particularly the Sharjah Chamber, to promote these opportunities among their members to encourage investment in Mali, highlighting that these opportunities span various sectors.

He stated, “The Emirati business community is keen to understand the investment landscape in Mali,” emphasizing the UAE chambers’ desire to enhance collaboration with the Malian side in order to foster mutual partnerships in the near future.

Al Owais also pointed out efforts to sign a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint business council, which would serve as a direct communication platform between private sector representatives, especially in sectors such as agriculture, food security, infrastructure, energy, and mining. He expressed hope that this meeting would strengthen cooperative relations between the business sectors of the UAE and Mali.

The Malian delegation, led by Madiou Sembara, President of the Mali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented various investment opportunities, including projects in renewable energy, artesian wells, infrastructure development, construction of a large commercial complex, establishment of a sports complex, industrial projects, urban development, land transport, and the building of an international hospital. Sembara invited the business sector to visit Mali to explore the economically viable investment opportunities available for both countries, stating that the Mali Chamber hopes to enhance cooperation with the UAE chambers across various fields, further enhancing trade collaboration between the two nations.
