The Ministry of Finance welcomed a high-level delegation from the Executive Leadership Program of Indonesia as part of a field visit aimed at sharing knowledge and learning about best practices in the areas of digital transformation of government services, medium-term financial planning, and zero-based budgeting methodology. During the visit, members of the delegation, accompanied by Maryam Mohammed Al Amiri, the Assistant Undersecretary for Government Financial Management, and several department directors, engaged in a series of presentations and interactive discussions that showcased the advanced methodologies adopted by the ministry in various aspects of government financial management.
The ministry presented its strategic objectives for 2023-2026, focused on ensuring financial sustainability, enhancing national financial resilience, and fostering innovation. It also highlighted its global standings in competitiveness indices, owing to the performance metrics of its flexible strategies.
The ministry showcased its initiatives in digital transformation and integration of artificial intelligence technologies, achieving full automation of internal technical processes, a 95% satisfaction rate among users through digital channels, and a 70% reduction in service delivery time.
Presentations included award-winning initiatives in AI innovation, adherence to high cybersecurity standards, and the ministry’s efforts in data governance through the establishment of a central data lake, along with predictive analytics to support decision-making and enhance transparency, in alignment with the “We are the UAE 2031” vision and the “UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031”.
The discussions also covered the ministry’s experiences in financial forecasting based on data to ensure efficient and transparent resource allocation. The ongoing international collaboration with prominent institutions such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) was emphasized, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a global hub for smart and sustainable public finance.
Maryam Mohammed Al Amiri emphasized the ministry’s belief in the importance of knowledge partnerships that enable government institutions to confidently advance into the future. She noted that this visit reflects the UAE’s commitment to supporting government work systems based on innovative and forward-looking principles, further positioning the country as a leading model in global government financial management.
She added, “At the Ministry of Finance, we strive to establish a developed financial environment that adopts international best practices, rooted in innovation and digital transformation across all operations, to achieve efficiency and sustainability while enhancing governments’ ability to cope with rapid changes in the global economic landscape.”
Maryam Al Amiri concluded by expressing hope that this visit would mark the beginning of long-term cooperation pathways with the Republic of Indonesia, based on shared aspirations for sustainable development and governmental innovation.
