Dubai Maritime Authority Launches ‘Dock and Dine’ to Promote Luxury Yacht Tourism

The Dubai Maritime Authority, part of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, has announced the launch of the “Dock & Dine” initiative in collaboration with the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai. This initiative aims to enhance short-term yacht stays in Dubai, reinforcing the emirate’s status as a global yachting destination and elevating its presence among the top preferred locations on the global food tourism map.

This initiative will feature the top 20 marinas and marine stations in Dubai, providing a comprehensive concept for dining experiences at the marinas in the region. This aligns with the goals of Dubai’s Economic Agenda “33D,” which aims to position the emirate as one of the best cities in the world for business and leisure.

The “Dock & Dine” initiative is designed as an ideal option for those wishing to enjoy a brief stay in Dubai and exclusive waterfront dining experiences. It enables yacht owners, crew members, and guests to access a carefully curated selection of fine dining restaurants, luxury hotels, cultural attractions, and entertainment venues, all from their marina locations in the city.

Stunning Views

Guests can sail to various ports and restaurants, savoring a diverse array of gourmet cuisine in beautiful locations with stunning views. The average travel time between destinations ranges from 45 minutes to one hour.

Key features of the initiative include complimentary docking for yachts at the participating marinas and marine stations, quick responses to booking requests within 5 minutes to one hour, and direct communication with restaurants to organize reservation details. Additionally, there is a dedicated service to ensure smooth and easy transfer for guests to and from the marina. The initiative’s launch is governed by well-planned regulations and standardized procedures, ensuring a consistent and seamless experience for both yacht patrons and the entities managing the marinas.

Attracting Tourists

During this announcement, Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmad bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime Authority, stated that the “Dock & Dine” initiative reflects Dubai’s advanced approach to developing maritime navigation and its complementary services. The city has successfully upgraded its navigation laws and enhanced operational processes comprehensively, driven by leadership’s vision for the future of tourism in the emirate and strong collaboration between the government and sector partners.

He outlined that the initiative aims to attract tourists and provide a luxurious experience for yacht guests, granting them seamless access to high-end destinations and world-class service.

He emphasized that the initiative demonstrates a commitment to providing outstanding service, full safety, and innovation, ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of Dubai’s guests and visitors at exceptional levels.

Seamless access to facilities enhances luxury sailing experiences, which peak during the winter season, from October to April, when Dubai attracts increasing numbers of visitors from around the globe due to its vibrant atmosphere, tranquil beaches, and a packed schedule of major events. This makes it an ideal destination for adventure enthusiasts and luxury dining experiences. Dubai boasts over four thousand marina docks within its extensive network of marinas and marine stations, providing a high capacity to accommodate a diverse range of recreational vessels, including luxury yachts.

Continuous collaboration between the public and private sectors is critical to building a comprehensive and sustainable marine ecosystem that serves residents, visitors, the environment, and the economy alike, in line with the objectives of Dubai’s Economic Agenda “33D,” supporting the aspiration to make it the best city in the world to live, work, and visit.
