The Sharjah Expo Center, represented by Saif Al-Midfa, the CEO of the center and a member of the Advisory Council for Conferences and Exhibitions under the Global Trade Centers Association, participated in the Middle East Summit of the International Meetings and Conferences Association (ICCA) 2025. This event took place for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain and featured a gathering of notable leaders, innovators, and decision-makers in the exhibitions sector, alongside over 100 experts and specialists from around the globe.
Al-Midfa held a series of meetings and extensive discussions with various officials and participating organizations during the event. In his meeting with Dr. Senthil Gopinath, the CEO of ICCA, they addressed priorities for enhancing the international business events sector and the significance of artificial intelligence in advancing the conference and meetings industry. Both parties emphasized the need for increased collaboration among global exhibition centers and the establishment of strategic partnerships to organize specialized exhibitions that support diverse economic sectors.
Additionally, Al-Midfa met with Sarah Ahmed Bouhaji, the CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and Chairperson of the Bahrain International Exhibition Center. They explored future cooperation prospects, exchanged experiences, and worked towards unified efforts to attract significant events and conferences, while aiming to improve the supporting infrastructure of this vital sector, thereby boosting the region’s competitiveness on the international events stage.
Al-Midfa reiterated that participation in the summit underscores Sharjah Expo’s commitment to fostering the growth of the meetings and exhibitions industry in the region.
