As part of its efforts to foster collaboration with leading national companies, the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX) organized a visit to the EDGE Group. The objective of this visit was to explore ways to enhance the strategic partnership that aligns with national goals aimed at bolstering the local economy and establishing the UAE as a global hub for advanced industries and technological innovation.
The delegation was led by Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and Chairman of the Executive Committee of ADEX, accompanied by Khalil Al Mansouri, Executive Director of ADEX. They were welcomed by Faisal Al Bannai, Special Advisor to the President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology, and Chairman of the EDGE Group.
Throughout the visit, the ADEX delegation presented an overview of key services and financing solutions available to support national exports. They also discussed potential collaboration mechanisms to enhance the capabilities of the EDGE Group and its subsidiaries, enabling them to expand internationally and access new markets across various continents.
Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi emphasized the significant achievements made by UAE companies across various vital sectors, noting that the EDGE Group serves as a role model in military and advanced technology industries.
“We appreciate the remarkable accomplishments achieved by the group and its subsidiaries in developing innovative solutions that solidify the UAE’s position as a global industrial center. ADEX plays a crucial role in leveraging the competitive advantages it provides to support business growth across all sectors, enabling companies to expand internationally and contribute to increasing national exports. We also support EDGE’s efforts to lead the defense and security sector and enhance the strategic directions of the state towards economic diversification,” said Al Suwaidi.
Factory Visits
During the visit, the delegation toured various facilities of the EDGE Group to examine its manufacturing and technical capabilities. They started at the NIMR factory, a leader in designing and manufacturing light and medium armored and unarmored military vehicles, where they learned about advanced capabilities in vehicle production and systems that support defense operations. The delegation then visited the ADASI factory, which specializes in the development, operation, and maintenance of unmanned aerial, ground, and marine systems, along with manufacturing drones equipped with artificial intelligence technologies, and its capabilities in maintenance and technical support. The tour concluded with a visit to the HALCON factory, known for its comprehensive manufacturing of precision-guided munitions, missiles, and advanced defense systems, where the delegation received a briefing on the company’s capabilities in developing and producing modern weapon systems, as well as showcasing innovative technologies used in production lines.
This visit was aligned with ADEX’s strategic objectives to empower and support national industries, broaden their growth and development horizons, and enhance their global competitiveness. Both sides underscored the importance of enhancing participation and exchanging expertise and knowledge with leading Emirati institutions, focusing on their role in driving economic growth and diversification efforts to support national exports and solidify the industrial sector’s contribution to comprehensive and sustainable development.
