ADNOC Gas Signs 10-Year LNG Supply Agreement with Hindustan Petroleum
ADNOC Gas has recently announced a significant 10-year agreement with India’s Hindustan Petroleum for the supply of 500,000 metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually.
This deal underscores ADNOC Gas’s expanding presence in the global LNG market, particularly in Asia where demand for this essential resource continues to rise. It also strengthens the company’s position as a reliable global supplier of LNG.
The long-term agreement will enhance partnerships with key Indian energy firms, reinforcing efforts to support India’s energy security, following recent contracts signed by ADNOC Gas with Indian Oil Corporation and GAIL.
Fatima Al Naimi, CEO of ADNOC Gas, stated, “This long-term agreement with Hindustan Petroleum, which marks the third such contract signed with Indian energy companies last year, is a testament to the robust energy partnership between the UAE and India.”
Additionally, this initiative exemplifies ADNOC Gas’s capability to reliably meet the growing global demand for LNG and supports India’s ambition to increase the share of natural gas in its energy mix to 15% by 2030.
The LNG will be sourced from ADNOC Gas’s Das LNG facility, which boasts an annual production capacity of 6 million tons.
The Das facility, recognized as one of the oldest LNG plants worldwide, has exported over 3,500 LNG cargoes since its inception.
ADNOC Gas plays a critical role in executing the ADNOC Group’s strategy to boost its natural gas production capacity and LNG exports to global markets.
Natural gas serves as a significant transition fuel, as it produces fewer carbon emissions compared to other fossil fuels and acts as a vital raw material for various industrial value chains.
