Al Dar and Mubadala Acquire The Link for 654 Million Dirhams

Abu Dhabi’s Aldar Properties and Mubadala Investment Company have announced their joint acquisition of “The Link” project in Masdar City, with the deal valued at 654 million dirhams.

This transaction, which stems from their partnership formed in 2024, is a strategic enhancement, aimed at expanding their portfolio of high-quality real estate assets that promise stable and sustainable returns. It is also a significant contribution to one of the region’s most advanced sustainable urban development projects.

The Link project encompasses approximately 32,000 square meters of leasable space distributed across five fully leased buildings, occupied by leading global institutions that define future sectors.

Strong Confidence

Dr. Bakhit Al Katheeri, CEO of Investment at Mubadala, stated: “This acquisition underscores our strong confidence in the sustainable growth trajectory of Abu Dhabi, as well as the resilience and innovation-driven nature of its economy. Through our collaboration with Aldar, we are broadening our high-quality assets in Masdar City, which serves as a leading global platform in clean energy, artificial intelligence, and advanced research sectors. This investment reflects Mubadala’s disciplined and strategic investment approach, focusing on developing sustainable infrastructure that delivers robust and substantial returns while supporting the UAE’s ambitions for achieving climate neutrality and strengthening long-term economic resilience.”

Meanwhile, Talal Al Dhiyabi, CEO of Aldar Group, remarked: “Acquiring The Link represents another milestone in our strategic partnership with Mubadala. It reinforces our shared belief in the long-term growth fundamentals of the Abu Dhabi real estate market. This fully leased, high-quality asset enhances the agility and scale of our investment portfolio, deepening our presence in one of the world’s key sustainable urban development initiatives focused on clean energy, advanced technology, and scientific research.”

Ahmed Baqihoum, CEO of Masdar City, added: “The Link is a significant addition to Masdar City’s innovative ecosystem, demonstrating the ability of sustainable development to spur economic growth and support future sectors. Since its establishment over two decades ago, this vision has steadily progressed towards the future, and we take pride in the successful completion of this project, which solidifies Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading hub for innovation and supports the UAE’s climate neutrality goals.”

This acquisition will further expand the joint venture between Aldar and Mubadala in Masdar City, continuing a series of successful strategic acquisitions aligned with a long-term strategy aimed at building and expanding a flexible asset portfolio able to generate stable and attractive returns, thereby supporting the UAE’s national priorities.
