Arabia for Agricultural Investment and Development” Spearheads a Project in Mauritania

Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, inaugurated an industrial complex for the processing and valorization of surface fish, belonging to the Mauritanian Arab Fish Company (SMAC). The official ceremony took place in the industrial port area of Nouadhibou.

This complex is a developmental initiative with the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development contributing 40.54%, alongside the Imam Ould Abnou Group with 37.10%, in collaboration with various Mauritanian investors and institutions. The total investment cost is set at $28 million, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of fish and related products.

Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, stated that this project serves as a benchmark for advancing the fishing sector by enhancing value chains, creating job opportunities, and achieving a balance between economic growth and the protection of natural resources.
