Dubai Airports has announced a partial resumption of operations, effective from yesterday, allowing some flights to operate from Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International. Travelers are urged not to head to either airport unless they have received confirmation of their flights from their respective airlines, as schedules may continue to change.
The airport authorities are closely monitoring the situation in cooperation with relevant entities, with a focus on maintaining the highest standards of operational safety and security for both passengers and staff.
Emirates Airline has confirmed the resumption of its operations, indicating that passengers with bookings on flights scheduled for later today can proceed to the airport to complete their travel formalities. This also applies to transit travelers passing through Dubai, provided that their onward flights are operational.
The airline encourages customers to check the flight schedule for upcoming flights and to book available seats. It reassures passengers that it is continuously monitoring the situation and will adjust its operational schedule as necessary. Emirates expressed gratitude to its customers for their understanding and patience, emphasizing that the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority.
For travelers with bookings between February 28 and March 31, the airline has stated that they can rebook onto an alternative flight to their original destination, provided they travel before April 30. This can be arranged through their travel agents if booked via them or directly with the airline for direct bookings.
Customers may also request a refund by completing a refund request form for direct bookings or contacting their travel agent for agency bookings.
The airline urges all customers to ensure their contact information is updated through the ‘Manage Booking’ service to receive the latest updates regarding their flights. It is noted that all city check-in locations in Dubai remain temporarily closed until further notice, with additional information available in the travelers’ FAQ section.
FlyDubai also announced the resumption of its flights to and from Dubai, confirming that air operations have returned with ongoing monitoring of the situation in coordination with relevant partners. The airline advises travelers to avoid going to the airport unless they have confirmation of their bookings, stressing the importance of continuously checking flight statuses for the latest updates.
