Dubai Customs Concludes Ramadan Initiatives
Dubai Customs has successfully wrapped up a series of community and humanitarian initiatives throughout the holy month of Ramadan, reaffirming its commitment to the values of solidarity and compassion, which align with Dubai’s vision of embedding humanitarian work as a sustainable institutional practice.
This year’s Ramadan initiatives saw extensive participation from various segments of society, showcasing the department’s active role beyond its customs-related functions.
The Dubai Customs tent, in collaboration with the DP World Foundation, the charitable arm of DP World, experienced significant turnout at both the Rashid Port and Hatta Border Post, serving around 144,000 beneficiaries with daily iftar meals. This initiative aimed to support fasting individuals and strengthen community ties during the holy month.
Additionally, the “Saweed Al-Farda” program continued its volunteer efforts by distributing iftar meals to drivers at key locations, benefiting approximately 50,000 individuals. This initiative represents a practical embodiment of the spirit of giving and social responsibility among the department’s employees.
In the same vein, the Ramadan Food Drive, in partnership with the Dubai Charity Association, supported 1,000 underprivileged families, enhancing the department’s efforts to broaden its humanitarian outreach during the holy month and reaffirming its ongoing commitment to community support through comprehensive programs tailored to various needs.
Moreover, Dubai Customs organized a series of religious lectures that attracted 350 participants, focusing on religious and community topics aimed at raising awareness and promoting positive values among employees and community members.
These initiatives were executed in partnership with several supportive entities, including the Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, the Dubai Charity Association, the DP World Foundation, Hotpack Company, and Sam Precious Metals, exemplifying a collaborative approach between the public and private sectors to serve the community during this blessed month.
Dubai Customs emphasized that its Ramadan initiatives are part of a structured approach that reinforces its human and social role, enhancing its standing as a leading government entity that exceeds its mandate of facilitating trade and securing borders, extending to contribute to the development of a cohesive and compassionate community, thus supporting Dubai’s vision of improving quality of life and fostering values of generosity.
