Expanding Horizons for Collaboration with Businesswomen in China
The Ministry of Economy and Tourism participated in the “Economic Dialogue for Women” event held in Guangzhou, China. This initiative aims to highlight the presence of Emirati women on international platforms, showcase their remarkable achievements, and foster international partnerships among successful female leaders in the economic sector from both the UAE and China. These efforts align with the vision of the UAE leadership to support and empower women, as well as emphasize their crucial role in shaping the future, coinciding with the UAE’s celebrations for Emirati Women’s Day 2025 under the theme “Hand in Hand, We Celebrate Fifty Years.”
The UAE delegation was led by Badriya Al Maidour, the Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. The event, organized by the UAE Consulate in Guangzhou, also saw the participation of Mariam Al Shamsi, the UAE Consul General in Guangzhou, alongside Emirati entrepreneur Mariam Al Mansouri, General Manager of Rebound, as well as representatives from Sky River and Eissal companies.

She noted that since its establishment, the UAE has adopted a proactive approach to reinforce the role of women as active partners in the development journey through supportive policies, legislation, and initiatives applicable across both public and private sectors. Women’s participation in development has been prioritized nationally to enhance the country’s competitiveness both regionally and globally.
She added, “We take pride in the accomplishments of Emirati women across various sectors, and through this dialogue, we aim to broaden horizons of collaboration with businesswomen in China by enhancing economic partnerships based on diversity and innovation, as well as sharing success stories that will inspire future generations of female leaders in both countries.”
The event featured a series of panel discussions exploring the role of women in vital areas, including sustainable finance, investment, fintech, green construction, and the localization of foreign companies in the UAE.
Additionally, a group of female leaders from both sides shared their professional experiences and the opportunities that have assisted them in their growth and sustainability.
