The President of Emirates Airlines, Tim Clark, expressed a determined outlook in his first media appearance since the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East, emphasizing that strong demand will lead to a quick recovery.
Speaking at the CAPA Airline Leaders Summit in Berlin, Clark mentioned that the airline is currently operating at high capacity levels. He stated, “I do not believe that recent developments will alter our management approach or business model,” adding, “We can restore performance; our brand is strong.”
Commenting on the airline industry’s situation amid rising fuel prices, Clark assured that the carrier is not facing supply concerns and that robust demand is offsetting operational pressures. He also subtly criticized some European competitors, pointing out the impact of strikes in Germany and the aging of their fleets.
Clark emphasized that Emirates Airlines will proceed with its operational plans without delay, anticipating better financial indicators by the year’s end, and continues to be one of the most profitable airlines globally while maintaining its fleet modernization program.
When asked about the possibility of his retirement, Clark responded, “I am here because we are not stopping our work.”
