Exceptional Performance of Dubai’s Tourism Industry

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has confirmed that the tourism sector in the UAE has experienced remarkable performance since the beginning of this year. From January to April, the emirate welcomed 7.15 million international visitors, marking a growth rate of 7%. By the end of April, the total hotel capacity reached 153,534 rooms, and last year saw the issuance of 1,200 new restaurant licenses.

This information was shared during the department’s first regular meeting with partners for 2025, aimed at updating stakeholders on the latest developments in Dubai’s tourism sector, its accomplishments, and global trends currently affecting the industry. The event also sought to enhance collaboration between the public and private sectors, a hallmark of Dubai’s approach to ensuring the ongoing growth of the tourism industry.

The meeting gathered over 1,300 prominent figures, including leaders from hospitality, aviation, retail, and food and beverage sectors, alongside representatives from relevant government bodies. Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing, remarked that the tourism sector continues to thrive under the wise guidance and inspiring vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He emphasized that the exceptional performance of the sector this year builds upon the momentum seen in 2024, reflecting the ongoing support from partners and stakeholders.
