Flower Market in the UAE Expected to Grow by 13.7% by 2028

The flower market in the UAE is experiencing remarkable growth, with the cut flower sector projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 13.7% until 2028. As demand rises across the hospitality sector, luxury retail, and special events, the “My Plant and Garden Middle East” fair is set to become the most prominent industry event for flowers and gardening in the region. This exhibition will take place for the first time from November 15 to 17, 2025, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo Dubai.

With Dubai’s increasing status as a premier destination for luxury weddings and global events, the UAE stands out as a key hub in the ornamental plants and flowers scene. In 2023, flower imports surpassed $70 million, highlighting the growing demand from corporate buyers, event planners, and retailers. Government support continues to strengthen this sector, particularly through strategic infrastructure like the Dubai Flower Centre, which receives over 150,000 tons of flower shipments annually.

Local production is expanding unprecedentedly, as farmers in the UAE are keenly increasing their cultivation of roses, while the demand for long-lasting varieties such as lilies, gerberas, and chrysanthemums is on the rise. With an anticipated influx of over 20 million tourists each year and a regional events industry valued at $70 billion, the UAE offers vast opportunities for global suppliers aiming to enter one of the world’s most thriving and promising markets.

The “My Plant and Garden Middle East” exhibition aims to bring together leaders in the flower and gardening sector, providing them with a platform to strengthen their market presence, build business relationships, and support their involvement in the rapidly growing green economy. The event will feature a gathering of experts showcasing a wide range of products, from fresh flowers and ornamental plants to plant care systems, technology used in greenhouses, floral design, and retail innovations. It serves as a dynamic networking platform for stakeholders in the hospitality, retail, events, real estate, and government sectors.

Valeria Randazzo, Exhibition Manager for My Plant and Garden Middle East, stated, “The UAE is rapidly evolving into one of the leading economies in the global flower market. This growth transcends aesthetics, encompassing operational processes, supply chains, and market access. The role of this exhibition is to connect global suppliers with buyers in the region during a time when the market is poised for innovation, investment, and sustainable growth. We are excited to invite flower vendors, nursery owners, farmers, wholesalers, and suppliers to join the most dynamic business platform in the area, specializing in plants, flowers, outdoor space design, and outdoor living.”

Following its success in Milan, attracting over 810 exhibitors and 27,000 visitors from 40 countries worldwide, “My Plant and Garden” is launching its distinguished event for the first time in the Middle East.

In 2025, the event will connect international exhibitors with key buyers across sectors such as hospitality, retail, urban development, and government procurement, contributing to business growth, partnerships, and innovation within the region’s burgeoning green economy.
