Global Report: UAE Emerges as a Leading Hub for Artificial Intelligence Worldwide

A 2026 report from Stanford University has highlighted the United Arab Emirates as a burgeoning global hub for artificial intelligence, ranking it among the top countries for institutional support of AI strategy, awareness, and governance.

The report points out that the UAE has achieved a notably high adoption rate of artificial intelligence, significantly exceeding expectations relative to its GDP. It shares this distinction with Singapore, both countries showing levels well above projected per capita GDP contributions, and consistently appearing in global rankings for AI based on skills, job availability, adoption, and talent.

Furthermore, the report indicates that over 80% of employees in the UAE use AI confidently and regularly in their work. The country is recognized for its rapid growth in AI engineering skills, outpacing awareness of AI itself.

In terms of AI talent and workforce, the report emphasizes that UAE’s AI talent concentration has surged by more than 100% from 2019 to 2025. The nation ranks highly in net talent inflow in artificial intelligence at a rate of approximately 4.40 per 10,000 LinkedIn members.

The report also discusses the AI economy and job market in the UAE, revealing that AI job postings accounted for about 2.87% of total job advertisements in 2025. The UAE has now positioned itself as one of the leading global markets for AI labor demand.

Moreover, it underscores the UAE’s commitment to integrating AI into education and the launch of the National AI Strategy 2031, which mandates AI education across all schooling levels starting from the 2025-2026 academic year. The curriculum will cover AI fundamentals, data handling, algorithms, innovation, and ethics, earning the nation global recognition alongside China for its advancements in AI education.

The report dedicated a section to the technological/research framework in AI, praising the role of the Technology Innovation Institute in Abu Dhabi, which stands out as a global leader in advanced technology research, particularly in applied AI research using “Falcon” models.
