Only six percent of participants in a recent survey indicated that they possess an AI-powered personal computer, revealing a substantial opportunity within the market.
The study conducted by Intel in the UAE and Saudi Arabia found that 44 percent of respondents are aware of AI PCs but have not yet utilized them. “This disconnection signals a notable chance to showcase the tangible advantages of AI computers, transforming awareness into practical usage. It indicates a need for focused marketing efforts that highlight real-world benefits,” the report stated.
The results suggest a strong market potential for AI PCs, illustrating both enthusiasm for the technology and areas where further education and assurance are essential, particularly among younger users.
Key insights from the survey include:
• High Purchase Interest: More than 60 percent of participants expressed they would “definitely” consider upgrading to an AI PC, with an additional 29 percent indicating they would “probably” do so, showcasing a robust potential for swift market expansion.
• Desirable Features: The features most appealing in AI PCs encompass predictive text technology, real-time language translation, and improved accessibility tools. These insights emphasize the necessity of prioritizing user-focused AI functionalities that meet daily needs and enhance productivity.
• Manageable Privacy Concerns: Approximately 29 percent of male respondents and 28.4 percent of female respondents expressed moderate concerns over data security, while only a small fraction (6-7 percent) were extremely concerned. This suggests that addressing privacy issues proactively through transparent data management and strong security measures will be crucial for building trust and encouraging adoption.
• Impact of Time Spent on PCs: Individuals who use PCs for over 20 hours weekly reported less inclination to upgrade, possibly due to satisfaction with their existing systems or worries about compatibility. In contrast, moderate users (10-19 hours per week) exhibited the highest interest, indicating that this demographic may be more open to the efficiency and productivity benefits that AI PCs can provide.
These insights create an opportunity for technology developers and marketers aiming to boost AI PC usage in the region. The survey underscores the importance of emphasizing user-driven features, addressing privacy apprehensions, and targeting specific user segments with customized messaging.
